mpBinary bundle

Hello,

I read the page about mpBinary bundle, http://mplayerosx.sttz.ch/tracker/wiki/1/BinaryBundleReference.

After investigating the codes, mpBinary is just a bundle. However a description on the page seems to mislead.

"When MPE is installed, the file extension mpBinaries will make Finder automatically recognize the directory as a bundle. However, on system where MPE is not installed, it will show up as a directory. It's possible and advisable, to set the bundle bit on the directory so that the directory will appear on all systems as a bundle."

What is MPE then? Isn't MPE an abbreviation of "MPlayer OS X Extended"?
if so, whether you install the MPE or not, any bundle is displayed as a bundle by Finder. However, the description seems to say that MPE is not "MPlayer OS X Extended". What is the MPE? Why a bundle is displayed as directory when the MPE is not installed? if the mpBinary bundle is bundle type, it is displayed as bundle, and you can go into the bundle, because it is basically a directory.

Also, what makes the mplayer binary into the bundle? Is the mplayer project contains some build option to make such bundle?

The description doesn't explain that. It feels like that we should repackage mplayer as mpBinary bundle.

Can you clarify all of this questions?

Thank you.
