What are you talking about?

x264 is en encoding library for H264 video. It has nothing to do with decoding or playing H264 video. libavcodec contains the best opensource H264 decoder and that one is compiled into mplayer by default.

MPlayerOSX Extended is for playing videos and I always compile mplayer with "--disable-mencoder", so that including x264 would have zero effect.

MPlayerOSX Extended plays H264 just fine. If you have troubles with a specific video then please check if the video plays using the command-line mplayer binary. If it fails to play there also, then it's something the mplayer folks have to fix.

thanks. I have figured it out that mplayer can play H264 already.

Is it too difficult that we include mencoder binary with the MPlayerOSX distribution? This would be useful for users, otherwise we (or just I?) would need to download and compile from the Mplayer source again, just in order to get the mencoder. Thanks.
